At Lake Denoon Middle School, they have started to strictly enforce the school dress code. Like most dress codes it is very heavily targeted towards the young female students in the school. 

Girls who have worn shirts that are not against dress code have been told to change or cover up because their shirt came up while they were reaching for something in their locker or because they were taking off a sweatshirt. 

The female students at this school all feel the effects of this sexist dress code mostly enforced by male teachers. There are girls as young as 10 being told that they are just a distraction to their male peers and told they need to change because their outfits are "too sexy" for school. These students are constantly told to express themselves and to be comfortable and confident in their own skin, yet are pulled out of class to change their shirt because their shoulder was visible. The standards for the male students is simply no underwear showing, no muscle shirts, and no shirts with curse words on it. 

With enough support the school board may be forced to listen to the student and parent concerns and no longer be able to continue to ignore us and silence the female students voices.
