Sidewalks needed on Highway 527 between Bothell and MillCreek Washington! Please share!
My son was Killed March 9, 2016 while walking home from work at Mud Bay. He was walking along 527, and was hit by a car. There is a about a two block area between 180th street and 164th street where there are no pedestrian access, and the pedestrians are forced to walk on the shoulder of HWY 527 (Bothell Everett Highway). There has been additional living spaces, and business added to that area without improving the infrastructure. This is unsafe. There needs to be sidewalks added to the Highway to that stretch so that is safe for pedestrians can travel from 180th to 164th streets.
- The Mill Creek City Council
I have watched the citys of Bothell and Mill Creek grow over the years. There have been some infrastructure improvements like adding sidewalks, however there is a stretch on BEH 527 where the sidewalks end, leaving the pedestrians to walk on the side of the road where there is often not even a shoulder wide enough for one person. The speed limit is 45, however drivers often travel much faster on that road due to no stop lights between 180th and 164th. Please consider putting in sidewalks on both sides of BEH between Seattle Hill Road and just south of 173th.
