Us residents at the Rise and Bolden have been subjected to have our luxury building being managed all of a sudden by a novice management company named Why Hotel. Why Hotel has never even managed a building such as ours and started within our building by renting out a few of the units with using an air bnb model while the building was properly managed by Kettler. The staff at Kettler was not only concerned with the needs of the community but also handled any mishaps that occurred both professionally and efficiently. Unbeknownst to Kettler and the entire community of residents at the Rise and Bolden buildings, all of a sudden the news had come that the Kettler contract would not be renewed and the buildings will now be managed by this unexperienced firm called Why Hotel where they are now attempting to convert most of the units into short term hotel room tenants and pwhere there is no longer any sense of community or belonging and having the building run down to the ground. The management team consisting of Elena for the most part, along with her subordinate Walter are incapable of being professional and solving issues and instead create unnecessary problems for the residents. Residents no longer feel safe in these buildings and are having to deal with unnecessary issues such as empty promises to fix certain things within their units, having packages disappear, dealing with mistruths and allegations from management and dishonoring of original leases that were signed. These building are located in a prime location in Tysons Corner where residents are paying for convenience and luxury.  We don’t want to be subjected to our temporary neighbors staying from 4 days to few weeks to be negligent within the building in which we reside and receive the unprofessional behavior of Elena and her team. Many parents within the community fear for the safety of their children residing in these buildings as well. As contracted residents of our community we go through several checks included a background check to be able to reside at the Rise and Bolden buildings. Why Hotel is renting out units following the air bnb  model throughout the buildings without even checking who the long term residents will be living in the community with.  This petition is for the belief that our community of residents deserve better and that a new management company should be managing these properties and not some new pop up hotel who does not have the experience nor the professionalism to do so.
