Media shouldn't publish suicide bombers' details, the publicity fuels martyrdom they seek

Terrorists killed whilst carrying out any act of violence should not be named in the media.
- Notoriety serves to encourage others who are easily influenced and it promotes their cause. It is one of the primary motives for their actions.
- Terrorism of any form exists as a means to encourage others to follow in their footsteps, in the belief that they will go down in history in a blaze of glory.
Our current lack of media restraint means that any terrorists perpetrating such hateful crimes have their names recognised around the world, which is exactly what they are aiming for. We should not play into their hands and give any credibility to their cause. Only suspects or people being sought to help with enquiries should be named, and only then to assist in their apprehension.
Furthermore, this should discourage excessive and unnecessary media coverage of the personal lives of perpetrators, which eclipses the memory of victims, and causes further distress to their loved ones.
