The life, survival of the physically handicapped in large cities

The life, survival of the physically handicapped in large cities
L'importance de cette pétition
There is a difference between fairness and equality. Equality is given the same chance to everybody like the same help to everyone, even if someone doesn't need it. Fairness is the distribution of aid and opportunities based on the needs of each people. One of a big problems of society, is that a minority of people have handicaps, sins when they are born or after an accident for example; and because of this handicap, there is a lack of fairness in the big city especially.
To explain, I will show a few examples of the life in city where we will only see physical handicaps. Someone that has difficulty walking or just can’t walk has a lot of problems in all the big cities like NYC or Paris to move freely. Especially with one way to move, the subway. In fact, to take the subway, you have to go underground but they never have an elevator or something like that. So people in wheelchairs are forced to move in another way. The other way is walking, or rolling with the chair but there is a new problem; in big cities the things you see the most are cars, and angry people who drive them. The problem is that someone who has difficulty to move freely is going to bet his life every second by just crossing the streets, even if it is on a walking passage. In first, it’s because people in wheelchair can’t be seen by cars, and second, for the few pedestrian passages that have traffic lights, the time on is to short and they just can’t cross the streets. For blind people, crossing the streets is even more difficult without the help of someone. Simple things could be done for all of this like, traffic lights at every passage and even longer in time. A lot of cities could also create streets without cars, that could also be efficient against pollution. Before each pedestrian passage, we also could put a voice in the traffic light that indicated the time the road is safe enough to cross. To finish those example, many buildings do not meet standards and like people in wheelchairs, some can’t move in them because doors are not big enough or because there are steps; and those simple things could be avoided with a ramp on step for example.
Big cities not see the pain in life of people with a handicaps and could do somethings and i hope, with this petition, and with the signatures you will gave, that they will change their life. To this, I think half of the population of a cities like Paris (so 1 millions) of signatures are necessary to change this world.
