Stop the Extension of the Quinns Rocks Dog Beach

We wish to state our vehement opposition to the extension of the dog beach at Quinns Rocks any further south.
The existing dog beach presents the following problems:
- The parking area at Camira Way and Ocean Drive is overflowing with vehicles, especially weekends and holidays. People park their cars on the verge or any place they can get a park. The Mary Street car park has limited car bays available, so we believe this will not alleviate the car parking problem at Camira Way.
- The walkway from the car park to the beach is always covered with dog poo, dog urine and water runoff, making it a health hazard. Further dog traffic will only make this situation worse.
- This proposed extension will spoil this beautiful beach due to dog use.
- Wanneroo Shire at present can’t keep the existing dog beach, pathways and car parks free of dog excrement, urine, Dog Wash business hair and general litter.
It is manifestly unfair that the residents of Quinns Rocks have to sacrifice even more of their swimming beach for the benefit of dogs. Surely the load should be shared by other areas
We hope the Wanneroo Shire Council will take into account the needs of all residents, not just dog owners, when making the final decision on whether to extend the Quinns Rocks dog beach.
