Ive stayed there for one week and loved the fact it wasn’t high rises everywhere . Love the small biosphere feel.

I imagine there are not too many places likes this left out there for future generations. We have left too many problems to take away another beuatiful destination.

Keep Kabira beautiful. Dont destroy the unique charm it has by allowing massive tourism to take control.

My friend and her family, who are one of the few hundred residents of Kabira Bay on Ishigaki island could have lived anywhere in Japan. But they chose to stay on to help nurture its pristine natural environment. If exotically beautiful locales like Kabira suffer the loosening of legislation, the scourge of “high-rise” commercial real estate, in the garb of touristic development, will rob Kabira of its wondrous natural splendour. Worshipful Mayor of Ishigaki, please do not allow this to happen. Instead please opt for alternate and environmentally sustainable models of tourism keeping the essential character and spirit of Kabira Bay intact, not just for local residents but for all those from around the world who are still to see and succumb to its legendary charm.
I’m writing this with heartfelt hope from India.
Kind regards
