Project Hermes started this petition to The Manila City Government

Hospitals, drugstores and testing centers alike, have been hard to access due the financial costs and health risks involved. In order to counter these, Project Hermes aims to bring affordable and accessible healthcare to densely populated areas in the country. 6-Wheeler trucks will be refurbished into mini mobile clinics, which offer medical resources to the people such as common medicine, swab tests and rapid tests.

With no vaccine to the novel coronavirus and limited access to testing kits, Filipinos face the threat of infection every time they cross paths with strangers in public places. This constant threat is aggravated by the considerable financial costs and high risk of infection when visiting hospitals, drugstores, and testing centers. Filipinos---most especially those in the urban streets of Manila---live their COVID-19 days in anxiety, wondering which stranger will infect them and whether or not they will be able to afford getting sick.

Project Hermes offers a cheaper, yet safer alternative to visiting public infrastructures such as drugstores, hospitals and testing centers by bringing these resources to their towns and barangays. This allows our team to cater to the needs of our target market by meeting them where they are the most. This then decreases the risk of infection as it decreases the time they need to spend in public, such as when they spend time to go visit hospitals. Lastly, Project Hermes decreases the financial burden of having to buy medicine and testing kits by selling these at an affordable price, rather than for profit.

In addition to this the clinics on wheels prototype will be tested in the City of Manila, with 10 trucks being rolled out. These 10 trucks will target the following areas: Tondo, Santa Cruz, Sampaloc, Santa Mesa, Santa Ana, Malate, Paco, San Miguel, Binondo, Ermita. This test run is hoped to give insight on what the project lacks and can improve on, to better cater to the people who need it’s services.

Filipinos can #HealAsOne with Project Hermes by spreading word about the callable Project Hermes clinics on wheels. The project will have a website and a Facebook page which will give updates on the project. By sharing these various pages, it is hoped that the people will be aware of the resources that will now be available to them.
