Daniel Martin started this petition to The Manheim Township Board of Commissioners

On June 24th, the Manheim Township Board of Commissioners will vote to approve or deny the conditional use application for the proposed Oregon Village project. Because the project would increase traffic along Oregon Pike and Rt. 222, because it would allow precious farmland and open space to be replaced with additional suburban sprawl, and because it would negatively impact the village of Oregon, neighboring farmers, and Plain sect people in the area, I think that the proposal is bad for our community and should not go through. I’m against it and I petition the Board of Commissioners to vote it down.

This massive project will accentuate the current problems of over-development and traffic congestion in Manheim Township without adding the affordable housing we need.  Why would we allow this in the last sizable portion of farmland in Manheim Township?  Farmland is one of the biggest assets to our community, and we in Lancaster County are fortunate to also have it as a driver of tourism and a key part of local culture and charm.
