People are catching Covid-19 at a rate higher than ever, both vaccinated and unvaccinated. For the fest, majority of the people attending will be traveling from other parts of the US and world. People will be congregating indoors without masks for 3 days. This is sure to be a super spreader event.  Hundreds will be infected and stranded in Phoenix. They will be visited with unwanted hotel and medical bills, many of them will be unable to afford. Some of them will die. Phoenix residents will be put at risk. Hospitals will be stressed.

I, myself, tested positive over the holiday. I am fully vaccinated and boosted. I’ve been on bed rest for over a week and symptoms are not improving. I am 1 of 30 people I know who are vaccinated and tested positive in the last week. I imagine actual number of Covid are much higher. I live in a place where 70% are vaccinated. There is a mask mandate and vaccine only policy. Cases are higher than ever. People are dying waiting for a ventilator. Hospital wait times are 14+ hours. Hospitals are losing 20+% staff to the virus.

I love this festival. I’ve gone every year. I’ve made many friends and cherish the memories. I beg of you to please cancel or postpone this festival.
