Earlier today, the TTV Channel uploaded their interview with the directing team behind the first 3 Bionicle animated films. Towards the end of the interview, they discuss the possibility of a book showcasing the production art of the movies. They said they might run into trouble if they were to release it without permission from Lego and any other higher-ups involved in the films' production, so the fans should make their voices heard if they want to see it happen. They were half-joking, I think, but an art book like this has been something I've wanted for a long time.

When I was a kid, Bionicle was a huge part of my life, and the movies, starting with Mask of Light in 2003, were revolutionary to me. To paraphrase what one of the interviewers said, it felt like "this was how the characters were SUPPOSED to look." A lot of effort went into the design of the movies, and I'm sure the concept art we have access to is just a snippet of what there is to offer.

As far as Bionicle petitions go, I feel like this one is pretty realistic. After all, the artwork is already there, and Lego wouldn't need to have to do much in terms of production. We just need their permission. So, while a petition is not going to guarantee success, with enough signatures, it may get some attention. If you are a fan of the Bionicle movies, or just Bionicle in general, I urge you to sign this petition so the dedicated fans have a chance to get something cool from the first generation of Bionicle in the somewhat-near future. You've got nothing to lose, but something very special to gain! Share it with your friends and family too! If they understand it's important to you, maybe they'll sign too!
