Stop the Bike Trail Between E McAllister and Oak Grove School Rd in Lebanon, IL

The township council wants to allow Metro East Bike Trails to install a bicycle trail from the end of E McAllister to Oak Grove School Rd. They want the trail to run along the old Strack Lane that was abandoned years ago do to flooding and safety issues that still exist today. It is a terrible idea. It is encouraging bicyclists to travel two very rough and ill maintained roads that are heavily traveled by heavy commercial trucks and farm equipment. The area floods on a regular basis. When it floods raw sewage flows from the treatment plant next door and leaves sewer trash behind when the water recedes. The area has also been deemed a wetland, and the council seems to be ignoring all these issues. Please take a moment and sign your name to let the council know that a Lebanon having a bike trail may be a good idea but this is a horrible idea for a location.
