Expel John Mann MP

John Mann is the Labour Party Member of Parliament for Bassetlaw.

From 2010 until the 2015 election he made constant appearances in the media trying to get Ed Miliband replaced as Labour leader, and was no doubt partly responsible for Labour losing the election in 2015. Although during that time he didn’t raise any objections to Ed Miliband’s new system for electing the Labour leader, now that Jeremy Corbyn is doing well in the polls John Mann is claiming the system is flawed and has been taken over by “Militant Tendency” (sic). He has attempted to undermine the election by spreading stories that Jeremy Corbyn covers up for paedophiles. At a time when Labour needs a new leader as quickly as possible, Mann is suggesting halting the whole process merely to advertise his personal political prejudices, an extremely undemocratic suggestion.

Is John Mann a loyal and useful Labour MP? It is clear that there a “Blairite elite” for which Mann is a spokesman, a well organised centrally controlled operation within the Labour Party, and it is equally clear that supporters of “Blairism” are in control of the upper sections of Labour at National and Regional level.

This petition calls for the expulsion of John Mann from the Labour party (in a manner similar to that by which his bête noire Militant Tendency were expelled from Labour under Michael Foot) and calls for Mann to deselected as a candidate for the next general election. His expulsion would send a strong signal that the internal affairs of the Labour party and Labour democracy should not be tainted by rebel MPs  given undue prominence by hostile sections of the media.
