STOP THE REGISTRATION OF INTERBREEDING DOGS ABOVE THEIR COEFFICIENT PERCENTAGE

This petition had 450 supporters

The Kennel Club are allowing puppies to be KC registered with a higher coefficient inbreeding percentage
The Kennel.Club website states:
The COI calculator provides you with a percentage score. The lower the percentage, the lower the degree in inbreeding.
Therefore an inbreeding coefficient of:
0% indicates a dog that comes from two unrelated parents, based on all avaliable pedigree info
12.5% would equate to the genetic equivalent of a dog produced from a grandfather to granddaughter mating.
25% would equate to the genetic equivalent of a dog produced from father to daughter mating.
Pugs have an annual breed average of 5.2% inbreeding co-efficient.
Yet we are seeing Pug puppies born in 2015 being KC registered with a percentage as high as 25.2%. This is a high inbreeding percentage with also the higher change of Genetic problems. So why does the Kennel Club allow breeders to register higher coefficient percentage puppies. When inbreeding can lead to disaster or death. We hope to get the Kennel Club to listen to us and change the rules of puppy registration. The best outcome would be for the Kennel Club to stop registering high inbreeding puppies, which would make sure that breeders checked that they were breeding a Sire and Dam with no Genetic connection.

Please can you sign this Petition, we have to be the voice for our pets as we wish them a happy and enjoyable life. You may just save a dogs life !
