The Irish Catholic Church: Stop driving the ivory trade

Thousands of elephants are slaughtered every year so their tusks can be carved into religious objects-the Catholic Church is a main driver.

Letter to
The Irish Catholic Church The Primate of All Ireland
Friday 21st December, 2012.

Dear Cardinal Brady,

Altamato Mandrandele was murdered in DR Congo last Sunday 16th December 2012, for doing his job. He was a wildlife ranger trying to stop poachers from killing families of fascinating elephants for their tusks.

Altamato is the 120th wildlife ranger murdered in the past 10 years in the DR Congo and he has left behind a grieving wife and two children.

The Catholic Church is driving the trade in religious ivory products.

Please Stop the Catholic Church driving the ivory trade.
