The Iranian government: Release the BIHE educators and allow Bahais to attend universities
This injustice is STILL happening today.
Now, the Iranian government is targeting the most vunerable of the Bahais. Two young Bahai mothers with their infant children were recently imprisoned, and in January of this year yet another BIHE administrator was also imprisoned. What greater harm can a country do to its peoples than attempt to deny them education?
Nobel Peace Laureate Jose Ramos-Horta said "In this day and age, when we have to remind a government... of these rights, in this 21st century, it is an absolute absurdity." The Iranian government's denial of the right to education for ideological and religious reasons is in violation of the rights agreed upon to be fundamental for all humanity.
In my COMM 2 class, I learned about the basic human rights. This religious discrimination happening in Iran is disgusting. We need to establish justice. We need justice now.
What else can you do?
You can also hold a screening of the film "Education Under Fire" on you college campus, and encourage your college or university to review the educational quality of the BIHE coursework for acceptance of credits, allowing the BIHE students to continue with graduate work abroad or offer scholarships.
And you can share this video.

The persecution of Bahais in Iran is in violation of the rights agreed upon to be fundamental for all humanity. We request the release the BIHE educators being imprisoned and to allow all Bahais access to attend universities and colleges.
