Sep 8, 2013 — Clay Durham of East Pennsboro Township started an online petition that quickly caught fire. It garnered more than 25,000 signatures in the first days.

“I fear removing [wrestling] from an Olympic sport will add fuel to the fires of school boards and colleges looking to cut costs,” he said at the time. “With no pro league and world championships not as high profile as the Olympics, it will hurt wrestling tremendously.”

The International Olympic Committee reversed itself Sunday, voting to return wrestling to the Olympics in 2020 and 2024. The vote also means that baseball/softball and squash are out. Penn State wrestling coach Cael Sanderson quickly tweeted: Thank you IOC for putting WRESTLING back in the Olympic Games!!
