The International Black Caucus started this petition to The International Black Caucus

Blacks in every area of society are treated unequally. The very sight of their hue seems to be solid grounds for some form of imminent threat. Hashtags following the names of blacks slain by officers sworn in and assigned with but two duties. To Protect. To Serve.

Can Blacks be given the privilege of protection in the same system that used them to build their society? Caved them in to low income, gunshell-littered, and over police ghettos? When is enough going to be enough? Not when a Black Woman calls police for assistance and then falls 24 stories to her death? Was she protected? Was she served? When Aiyana Jones was sleeping on her couch in the living room with her grandmother who witnessed the fatal shot that took 7 year old Aiyana’s life? Was she protected? Was she served? When I run out of characters because there are too many names, will you realize that major changes are to be made? So that black children can gallop in the streets without fear?

When is enough going to be enough?

When Blacks are only left to memory and pages of a history book?

When is enough going to be enough?

When the children of the slain grow to repeat the same cycle you’ve forced upon them?

This is not a petition. These are demands.

The members of Black Canada, and the International Black Caucus. We hold no meeting and gather no where. We are your teachers and your bus drivers. Your entertainers and your cashiers. The lifeblood of your society and the main export of your “multi cultured Utopia”. We are the Black people who occupy all four corners of the Earth. Who have been here before the erection of these empires, and will be here long after they fall.

United and in solidarity. Respect of the Black population in the United States, whether in incarceration or not is the discussion at hand.

We as Black Canada, and the International Black Caucus— demand that Justin Trudeau cease any and all discussions of a newly ratified trade agreement. Blacks have been treated like a commodity for well over 400 years and even after the end of the Civil Right Era in North America. Hardly any progress has been made.

Surely freedom is not to be asked for—it must be taken.

Petition your Prime Minister to stand with his Black citizens in solidarity, to end the disregard, over-policing and senseless murders of Blacks both at home and abroad, and distance ourselves from a country who can time after time prove themselves to be void of Sympathy. Black bodies will not stand behind a newly signed trade agreement that allows a country boast economic growth while creating chaotic conditions out of bias and prejudice unequivocally towards a specific set of people.

This is not a petition. These are demands. This is a blackout.
