James Berry started this petition to The innocense project

Clint McGowan has been locked away in a Michigan prison for over 14 years for a crime he did not commit.....murder....and fought his case as an any innocent  man would, thinking it was all just a big mistake and misunderstanding and that he would be cleared soon enough.. However the law does not always work in the favor of justice. What I'm hoping to accomplish is to get a retrial...due to modern advances in DNA testing and such, this case needs to be re-examined.

Clint's mom and dad have stuck by his side throughout this whole travesty of justice...always praying for this nightmare to be over...Clint's daughter, Mackayla ,was only 2 years old when he was taken away from her in 2004. What I am hoping to accomplish here is to get Clint McGowan's message out there for all to know and to show how things just don't add up.

Clint is a dear friend of mine and my mothers as well as countless others who know him and know he is very much an innocent man. With this petition, I am hoping to get the awareness raised and support the innocence project to show how this man has served 14 years in a hostile prison environment away from his daughter who is now a teenage girl. How can DNA,fingerprints and hair all be used to free an innocent man, but when it does not match, it just  be tossed aside... as if it don't matter? This is what happened to Clint....all evidence shows he is an innocent man, but due to threats and corrupt police forcing statements to be made that were 100% untrue. Even to the point of threatening to remove children from there mothers if they did not cooperate..

In the end, Clint paid the price for a crime he did not commit....please help right this wrong and get Clint McGowan back home to his family....thank you for your time
