The Caravan has done a story on Judge Loya's suspicious death.
This is the story of a possible murder of a Judge.
Of the mainstream media’s silence then and now. To the best of my knowledge many of our mainstream newspapers and prominent news channels have not covered this.
Of the government’s silence. The government now controls what you will outrage about-currently Padmavati.
Of the judiciary’s silence.
This is a story of complete failure of all institutions in the country.
This is not the first time the mainstream media is maintaining a terrifying silence on issues that would ordinarily have caused a scandal. In the last few months, this is the at least the third time that stories concerning powerful people have (with a few exceptions) only been covered by the digital media.
The media is accountable to we, the people. It needs to stop crawling. It needs to break its silence. It needs to speak truth to power and about those in power.
Please join the protest meeting this Sunday at 3 PM at the Press Club where we will demand that the Press starts telling us the truth. Where we will mourn what seems like a slow but steady death of almost every pillar of the democracy.
Please sign this petition if you want to tell the mainstream press- Chuppi todo.
