Morley Wilson started this petition to The Honourable Patty Hajdu (Minister of Health) and

Thank you Healthcare Workers, you are the hearts positioned to express care, and God bless you for all that you do! We must also thank the government, from Federal to Provincial and Municipal levels for the work that they are doing to help the Citizens of this country to understand the detrimental implications of COVID-19 on our health and well-being and how significant is it for us to practice social distancing.

1) Did You Know Many Frontline Healthcare Workers With 10-Years of Service With One Company Are Still Part-Timers?

Many of the frontline healthcare workers who are risking their lives, for Canadians, before and during the Coronavirus pandemic do not have full-time employment with one employer. So many of them, especially senior home  employees have worked more than a decade in private and public sectors as part-timers. As a result; they are forced to work two or sometimes three different employers in order to provide adequate health benefits for themselves and their families. In this pandemic season, I foresee a greater chance of germs spreading from one facility to the next, Therefore, we need to end this part-time practices for healthcare workers by signing this petition. It will also help to break the explosive numbers of nursing homes deaths, etc., and minimize COVID-19 pandemic growth.

2) Why Probation Needs to Secure Employee's Ability for Success?.

The practice for a new employee at the junior level probation is three months and for high/senior level positions are usually six months or sometimes a year. Employee probation periods are important protocol that allows for managers/supervisors to monitor employees’ performance over a period of time. This ensures they are meeting the job requirements, and allows for the managers/supervisors to access the suitability for the role. So why not employ healthcare workers in full-time positions, once they are successful during the probational period?

3) We Can Get Things Done, Together!

We must ramp up the government to take action to the situation of the staffers who risks their lives every day to save our lives. The Honourable Patty Hajdu (Minister of Health) and Honourable Christine Elliott (Deputy Premier of Ontario and Minister of Health and Long-term Care), it is time to give frontline healthcare workers  full employment status and benefits. They need to receive benefits that are granted to all of their full-time peers, so that they can stay at one place of employment at a time.

With your help, we can make changes happen. Please sign and circulate the petition to let our leaders know you want them to take urgent action in this fundamental matter.

Be safe and may you and your families be protected in this season of uncertainty. Together we can make change! Thank you and blessings.
