Kyle Thomas started this petition to The Honourable Fayval Williams,Minister of Education, Youth and Information.

This is not an urgent problem, but a majority black male students especially high school students believe that there is no necessary point in cutting our hair for the attendance of school. According to school rules, black male students are not allowed to grow their hair above a certain height. Students often break this rule but some abide by it against their will. We believe that male black students should be able to grow their hair along with the other races who attend the school like the Chinese race, in the exchange with a new rule.

Black male children who's hair are not neat will not be tolerated (this way male black students can keep their hair and the styles as long as it's neat and tidy)

This problem has been countlessly appealed to principal and teachers but have been ignored. As a result we are taking this minor but effective issue to the Ministry of Education, and the rest of Jamaica's government body and it's fellow citizens
