The Government of Canada needs to remove its trash from the Philippines

Dear Honourable Catherine McKenna,

Thank you for your dedication to the people of Canada and our environment in what must at times be a thankless job, making sacrifice and personal strain a reality in your life while balancing the competing demands of work, family, and personal well-being.

As you may know, the Republic of the Philippines has a long history of colonialization.  As the Philippines is still a developing nation, it saddens many within our community that the Government of Canada has not removed festering Canadian waste from the Capital City of Manilla, which includes old wires, CD's, used plastic cups, and soiled adult diapers.

Each day that the garbage is allowed to remain, is a continual reminder to the people of the Philippines of external oppression, while also harming Canada's image as a promoter of environmental stewardship and international human rights.

We respectfully and assertively ask that you take the lead in initiating a project on behalf of the Government of Canada, to remove the waste from Manilla, and include timelines for when this will be completed.  Both Filipino-Canadians and their supporters wait with anticipation for your response and action.

Best Regards
