Fix funding for Clunes Community Preschool
This petition had 615 supporters
The NSW Government have cut funding to Clunes Community Preschool by $30,000. Please help get funding reinstated.
Clunes Community Preschool has served local families for close to 30 years, providing quality early childhood education in a beautiful setting. As a non profit organisation, all funding goes to programs for the children. The teachers go ‘above and beyond’ to provide a fun, educational and child focussed program. They truly love their roles, our children and the preschool, and it shows.
The government’s Start Strong Funding aims to provide affordable, quality early education to every child. Our preschool has an Exceeding the National Quality Standard rating, yet our kids are now worse off because we don’t fit the model - we’re not small enough but not big enough.
All children deserve quality, affordable early education to ensure they have a successful start at school and continue to thrive. Funding arrangements shouldn’t be a “one size fits all” model. Clunes kids should have equal opportunity too.
By signing this petition, you are joining with us to ask Sarah Mitchell, Minister for Early Education, to review the funding decision for Clunes Preschool and work with the small number of preschools that are worse off under the model to provide adequate funding. Thanks for your support.
