Connecticut Avenue and Ingham Avenue are the home of many families with small children and beloved pets, there is even a childcare centre on Connecticut. It is for these reasons that I am deeply concerned about the speed at which many drivers travel up and down these streets at all hours of the day and night.

It is imperative that traffic calming devices are put on our streets before a child or loved one is hurt or even killed. Animals are often hit at great speeds on these streets and more often than not, speeding drivers don't even stop.

We need to know that our families can feel that their children and animals can walk safely around these streets. If our streets remain as they are, there is no doubt that there will be devastating consequences that could ruin the lives of many families.

We must act now and demand that our council assess the residential streets of Five Dock and do what it takes to stop speeding drivers and make our streets safe for our local families.
