Help us bring a pharmacy to Rockbank
This petition had 1,508 supporters
Woodlea at Rockbank is one of the fastest growing communities in Australia and on completion it will be home to 7,000 homes and 20,000 families. With over 1,900 blocks sold to date, the emergence of a community of thousands is imminent. Rockbank residents require access to basic community facilities such as a pharmacy and medical centre now.
We are disappointed that the current Federal Government guidelines don't allow for a pharmacy to be provided within 10kms of the nearest existing pharmacy. The distance to Caroline Springs is 9.6 kms and to Melton is 6.7kms, which is inconvenient for local residents who deserve access to health services in their local community.
We believe that due to the speed of growth and 1400 residents living at Woodlea by the end of 2017, combined with the already established population of 1,300 people at Rockbank, there are enough residents to support the approval of a pharmacy now.
We request that the Federal Health Minister, The Hon. Greg Hunt MP, use his discretionary power to approve a pharmacy within the Woodlea Sales Centre at 25-27 Woodlea Blvd, Rockbank, Victoria 3335.
