Michele Paton started this petition to the home secretary and

Najat Ibrahim Ismail, an Iraqui Kurd with the right to legally remain in the UK,  brought over his badly burned baby niece and her family from Calais because it was the only way to ensure the child recovered.  Although it was recognised that he had 'trafficked' his relatives for reasons of family rather than gain, he was imprisoned.  He has served his sentence and is no risk to British society in any way.  He has a British wife and three little British children.  Mr Ismail is now faced with being deported to Iraq on Friday, 3rd May.  He would be in great danger there and this would be damaging to his family. To deport him would serve no purpose other than to demonstrate a lack of common sense and compassion.
