Carolina Simon started this petition to The Holocaust Memorial Resource and Education Center of Florida and

The Holocaust was the systematic, state-sponsored persecution and murder of six million Jews and 5 million other "undesirables" by the Nazi regime and its allies and collaborators. Although not every victim was Jewish all Jews were victims. This was the premise of the Nazi medical and political paradigm - that the German people were a body and Jews were a cancer that had to be removed and eradicated to save the body. There were other "problem" people, but only the Jews were considered lethal to the German Volk (collective people). It was a state-sponsored policy that started from the very top and trickled down to the most mundane of civic jobs. It was systemic because there was a clear system in place with policies, mandates, and factory-like precision to carry out the vision.

In 2019, various Jewish organizations conducted surveys including the ADL and the USHMM and discovered that an alarming 2/3 of millennials do not know basic Holocaust information in spite of teaching it in many states for the past 25 years.

When museums and organizations dedicated to the teaching of the Holocaust include all genocides, all social injustices, all forms of bigotry the realities of the evil involved in the Holocaust is lost. Blending these concepts does not strengthen the understanding of any of them and only leads to the increase of misunderstanding and falsehoods being taught as facts. In fact, antisemitic incidents and beliefs arise from such practices as equating the perceived police brutality of the George Floyd case with the treatment of Jews in Nazi Europe.

The Jews of Nazi Europe did not "resist arrest" from Nazi policy nor were they the victims of isolated one-on-one violence. They were systematically rounded up, stripped of their citizenship, their belongings, and their humanity; forced into inhumane living conditions on cramped Ghettos and shipped in cattle cars to concentration camps where most were gassed upon arrival for simply being born Jewish. Museums dedicated to the Holocaust should focus 100% on that historical reality only otherwise they should not call themselves Holocaust museums thus shielding themselves from the backlash of political statements being made by their exhibits.
