PAWS OFF ACT! At my request, my congressman, David Schweikert (AZ-06), has introduced common sense legislation to require that all products containing xylitol include a warning label. Xylitol is extremely toxic and usually lethal to dogs. It is in many of our foods and is the leading reason for calls to the Pet Poison Control hotline. We lost our beloved Wolfie to xylitol this past July. Reps. Greg Stanton (AZ-09), Michael Waltz (FL-06), and Raúl M. Grijalva (AZ-03) have joined David in introducing this truly bipartisan and common sense legislation.

It should be out of foods that pets can accidentally get a hold of. I had stopped buying Trident and other xylitol products when I first got dogs back in 2006.

This must be removed as it is so deadly.

Get Xylitol out of gum! My friend’s dog is currently struggling for his life at the vet because of accidentally ingesting some. This is not ok and is so preventable.

My healthy 7 year old medium sized dog just died from this. It only took 30 hours. There was nothing the vet could do.

I enjoy chewing gum and want to be able to continue buying it without worrying about my dog accidentally getting at it and dying. I don’t feel I can buy my favourite gum anymore so I’d love them to change the sweeter to erythritol!
