Provide Partner Accommodation Students with Train Fare

A large proportion of the students living in partner accommodation at University of Birmingham did not put the accommodation down as any of their choices when deciding where they would like to live during their first year at university. For students living at accommodation such as Liberty Gardens, Queen's Hospital Close, IQ Broderick House and more, we are required to get a train to campus every day. Even with a 16-25 railcard, it is £1.50 for a return after 10am between Five Ways and University station. As students, we cannot really afford to keep paying this everyday when students living on The Vale or Pritchatts can walk to campus in 5-10 minutes for free. I would like students living in partner accommodation to be able to have at least part of their train fares funded for them due to the inconvenience of us living further away from campus through no fault of our own.
