Patricia Mcentire started this petition to The Grey Forest City Council and City Mayor

The rock pillars have been welcoming Grey Forest residents into this special city for almost 100 years. This entrance at Grey Moss Inn and Scenic Loop Rd were the original entrance to this magical place we all call home. As years have past and citizens have come and gone, they still stand tall with their old gas lanterns and aged grey rock. These pillars have seen wagons and cowboys, indians and horses pass through! From the very first automobiles of the 20s-30s to the fastest sports cars of our time have passed through this entrance. The pillars have been around through more history of our town than any one of us. They are a part of Grey Forest history, and they should be left for many more generations to come. These pillars are one of the last authentic structures that the city has left. Please sign this petition and let our city government know that we do not want them removing or rebuilding these important pillars. The city wants to widen the road at Grey Moss Inn and the pillars are in the way of this project. A few residents say a wider road would be nice but many citizens (based on a Nextdoor poll) say the road is fine the way it is, others say remove and rebuild one pillar only. When the pillars are taken down, they will no longer be almost a century old. Although they might make the NEW pillars look similar to the original, they will no longer be authentic Grey Forest History.
