Eric Furlong started this petition to The Green Party and

Since the general election, and the major disappointment of the people's first choice being left out of a coalition government, there has been nothing but controversy and unneeded drama on what is already a crazy time for Irish people.

Within a month Agriculture Minister Barry Cowen was sacked following controversy over his 2016 drink-driving arrest, while Green Party leader Eamon Ryan fell asleep ahead of a Dail vote on legislation relating to lower-paid jobs. Following this, the next appointed Agriculture Minister Dara Calleary resigned just 37 days after being appointed after controversy struck from attending the Cliffden Golf event. Cork senator Jerry Buttimer was also forced to resign and was suspended from Fina Gails main decision making body. Meanwhile, another Fine Gael senator, Paddy Burke, has resigned as a member of the Houses of the Oireachtas Commission for attendance of the Cliffden Golf Society dinner.

Mr Buttimer and Mr Burke, along with Waterford-based senator John Cummins, who also attended the dinner, have all been stripped of the Fine Gael whip indefinitely.

Is this the government we want in power to lead Ireland? A government who can't even control itself? They were never our first choice and since June, their rule has been filled with nothing but controversy and has been a massive kick in the face for Irish people who are feeling the reprecautions most from this global pandemic.

We are better than this, we deserve better than this. WE NEED A CHANGE.
