Save and improve the Charity Creek Swimming areas on the Manning River for the community

The swimming holes adjacent to the Charity Creek bridge on the Manning River in Kimbriki are a community recreation and leisure area that have been treasured for generations. In recent years with increasing and wider knowledge of the area, and subsequent higher use of this community resource, increasing vandalism, abuse, degradation of the built and natural environment, littering and unacceptable social behaviour have meant that this once family friendly area is becoming hazardous and unpleasant for the community. We, the wider community petition the Mid Coast Council to assist the community in improving, making safer, and more enjoyable this important recreational asset by liaising with the local community, requesting ranger assistance, provision of suitable signage (to be discussed) regarding acceptable use and behaviour, and liaising with NSW Police regarding illegal or unnaceptable behaviour at the location, and the possible provision of rubbish collection stations and clean up events.
