I was made aware this morning that Red Clay school district is intending to remove the districts school safety resource officers and replace them with counselors. As so many fatal events have occurred in schools throughout the years we need trained professionals in schools to keep our kids safe. We can’t expect our children to know how to protect themselves in a potentially dangerous situation. Not only would our students potentially be in harms way the staff would as well. Doing this would be irrational and unjust. Decisions should be made with the children’s best interest in mind and that’s NOT what is being done here. Adriana Bohm and Jose Matthews, members of the red clay school board are trying to spear these appalling decisions. As parents we shouldn’t have to fear our children’s safety when sending them to a learning establishment. I am going to do everything in my power to help keep our kids safe, and you can help to by signing this petition! WE HAVE TO PREVENT THIS NOW! KEEP OUR TRAINED RESOURCE OFFICERS IN OUR SCHOOLS!!!
