13 yr old Kelsey Barrett of Sevierville, TN was missing as of monday morning on march 19th 2012 sometime between 12 and 7am. She was with a 19 yr old hispanic male who took her across state lines where she was finally found left in pennsylvania the next day. Local authorities said she had to be in danger to issue an amber alert. Who was to say she wasn't in danger? A 13 yr old with a 19 yr old leaving the state without permission!!! Her screen was out and blinds broken on the second story in the middle of the night. If this had happened to one of the families of someone of the TBI or law enforcement you better believe an amber alert would have been issued! Yes, she is safe now but the fact is if an amber alert was issued maybe she could've been found sooner and the man responsible would be behind bars instead of still on the loose! Think of the pain and suffering that could've been saved for family and friends! Let's all come together and get this changed so other families can have a little more piece of mind that all efforts are put forth to get our children back safe and sound!!!! This could easily be a case of human trafficking and by not issuing amber alerts right away the male in on the crime has plenty of time to get the girl to texas or another border town for the girl to be smuggled across the border and sold into slavery! Criminals are smart, they know no alert will be issued if the girl is a runaway so they gain the girls trust then talk them into running away! It's a big problem not only here but all over the United States but we have to start somewhere so let's start here in TN then take it on a nationwide campain! Let's make this place a safe place for our daughters and make some changes!!!!!
