The Governor of GA: Leave our state archives open to the public.
Sep 24, 2012 — When the General Assembly convenes in January, I will work with my colleagues to review the state budget in its entirety. While this process will force us to make tough decisions when prioritizing state spending, I understand the importance of the public’s access to our state’s historical records. . I agree with Governor Deal and am confident that we will be able to find other ways to balance the Secretary of State’s budget without resorting to such drastic measures as inhibiting the right of Georgians to review the historical records of their state government to this extent.
