This could happen to anyone. People think they're "too smart" to end up like these women, but there is no such thing. This could be your mom or your sister. Law without logic or discernment is tyranny. Hear these women out and set them free.

Because self-defense is not murder, as was the case of Glenda who hit her husband with her car when he jumped on her car after threatening to kill her - again. Each case must be considered on it's own merits...

It is essential that women survivors of domestic violence, imprisoned for trying to protect themselves, or their children, be allowed to go free. They have suffered long enough.

These women and their children were also victims. They deserve consideration of all the facts surrounding their convictions.

I work with victims of domestic violence daily. I see the damage that perpertrators of domestic violence cause and I see the gender bias inflicted on women who protect themselves and their children. These women are not a threat to society and, in fact, society let them down by not affording them the basic protections that are inherent to individuals in this country. I support this legislation.

I as a battered women at one time understand how this could happen. Although a crime they did commit, what about the crime against them. Mine admitted in court when i put a order of protection against him of physically and mentally abusing me. What he got nothing but freedom...
