Dissolve the parliament and hold general elections now

Dear Sir Cosgrove,
The recent confusion in eligibility of our elected representatives under s.44 of our Constitution has caused bemusement, uncertainty and ridicule of the Australian government and its parliamentarians.
We urge you to invoke all powers available to you as Governor General, as prescribed under the Commonwealth of Australia Constitution Act (the Constitution), to dissolve parliament and hold general elections as soon as possible.
We believe that a general election would provide an opportunity for all nominees for members of the parliament to check their eligibility to serve under s.44 of the Constitution.
Only a properly elected parliament and a properly constituted government can govern in the interest of all Australians.
