The code of laws in South Carolina is in drastic need of modernization and structural change. The way in which members of the Judicial Branch are vetted, seated and disciplined is rife with corruption and abuse. This is evidenced by the treatment of members of the law firms PMPED and Moss, Kuhn & Fleming, the solicitors office and others unnamed in the judicial and legal community of the 14th Circuit of South Carolina.  

There has been ample evidence to arrest and charge several of the people mentioned and others not mentioned. At least one has openly admitted to very serious financial crimes such as insurance fraud, embezzlement and theft of client funds. As a badge carrying member of the 14th Circuit Solicitor's office he violated his oath of office. Three lawyers among those involved in the financial theft, embezzlement and fraud have been disciplined by the Supreme Court and SC bar with two having their licenses suspended and one actually receiving disbarment. A deposition has even been requested for a sitting judge to answer questions about her involvement in a scheme to defraud Insurance carriers and the heirs of an employee who died in an accident at one of the lawyers homes and further questions hound a recently retired judge involved in the same case.

The lawyers that represent the accused are in control of the careers of the judges that they will argue before. This is absolutely ridiculous. One of the lawyers involved in the case is on the committee in the state legislature that appoints and disciplines judges.   

Duffie Stone, Solicitor for the 14th Circuit has been heavily criticized for his actions regarding the investigation of a double homicide of the wife and child of a member of his prosecutorial team. This same member has admitted to serious felonious conduct and has faced no consequences. If these were average citizens they would be behind bars awaiting trial. The fact that they are being treated so deferentially is a slap in the face to every South Carolinian. 

It's time the people of SC demanded justice. To not punish the guilty punishes everyone who isn't guilty.
