To get the law change for livestock attacks
Many farmers up and down the country face livestock worrying and attacks and nothing gets done about it.
Over the last 2 years we have lost nearly 12 sheep, 3 carrying triplets others having lambs to foot or in lamb. My niece lost 4 pet lambs, all due to being attacked by dogs. I want the consequences of sheep worrying/attacks to be more serious so maybe people will think twice about letting their dogs of the lead when in a field with livestock.
I think England should bring its laws in correlation with Scotland which will bring in high fines and possible imprisonment to those who put livestock at risk on any land, with public footpaths or otherwise.
This is people's (not just farmers but butchers, haulers, auctioneers and many more) livelyhoods and local sustainabily sourced food. I believe that this is caused by the growing disrespect for agriculture and lack of education within schools with regards to the countryside code and Public action towards live stock. With better education and harsher punishments we can resolve this issue that is causing financial hardship and mental health issues (anxiety and depression over possible future incidents and the inability to stop more attacks from happening) for farmers and their families up and down the country.
