Prisoners are already doing their time for the crime they have committed. 
Visits are extremely limited due to Covid-19. In most prisons one prisoner is allowed 1 visit every three weeks (including on remand prisoners). 

On visits, the visitor is told to wear a mask and you are not allowed to touch and must sit 2 meters away from each other. They have also been reduced to only 45 minutes. 

Prison staff are walking around wearing no masks and no PPE and are walking in and out of the prisons all day everyday! But when a family member or friend comes to visit someone in prison for 45 minutes they are made to wear masks and are told no touching is allowed!

This is completely unfair and if anything the prison staff should be wearing full PPE to allow friends and family to at least have a somewhat normal visit with their loved one! As I said above, prisoners are doing their time for the crime they have committed, they shouldn’t have to suffer any further. 

Prisoners are also locked in their cells for 23 hours they are not allowed out of their cells for work or education, this has caused an increase in self harming and suicide. 

The government figures show there is a 99% recovery rate for COVID-19. It makes no sense to inflict further punishment on prisoners.
