Why this petition matters

Started by Sue Dancy

During this lockdown Primary School Children, especially only children, are suffering.  Pre school children can legally meet other pre school children outside with their parents.  Secondary school children are old enough to meet a friend at the park.  However, Primary school children have to rely on their siblings for companionship and if you are an only child you don’t get the chance to play with other children at all.

In Scotland children under the age of 12 do not count towards households or numbers when meeting outside.  This enables primary school children to meet and learn from their peers through play thus helping with mental health and feelings of isolation and loneliness.

One of my grandsons who is five hasn’t had the opportunity to play with a friend since mid December.  Every morning he wakes up and asks if he is going to see his friends today.  How sad that every morning he is told no.

Please help me to make the English Government aware of this problem.
Our children need your help.
