Hi, we are Activate16 and we are campaigning for year 7, 8, and 9 students to be taught about politics, the political system, and current affairs in an unbiased way, for at least one hour per fortnight. This would assist students in forming their own views, seeing through media bias, and standing up for what they think is right.

We know first-hand that political education helps young people develop an interest in current affairs and politics, and that an increased understanding of politics and the political system assists students in their lives. 

Furthermore, political education opens up more pathways for students and encourages them to think about how society functions and operates.
