Amanda Hayward started this petition to The Government of Saskatchewan

In 2016, the government of Saskatchewan committed to implementing a long overdue individualized funding program for children with ASD in the province. Paltry in comparison to funding provided by other provinces, the government hasn't even kept their promise.

While some funding has been granted to preschool aged children, not a cent has been provided to help school-aged children over 6. The government are telling us that the supports offered through our schools are enough, but lack of EA support, speech therapy, psychology, and occupational therapy are concerns that parents and teachers have been voicing over and over again, for years. Our children are falling behind. Denying them immediate access to services now comes with a lifelong impact which will only cost the province more money in the future.

Parents are left picking up the pieces, and these types of therapies are financially unobtainable for most. Too many of our children are falling through the cracks, and COVID-19 has left us further devastated. Help us hold our government accountable so that our children will receive the supports that they need in order to thrive.

With a new election on the horizon, the SaskParty government is not even providing us with a target date of when this funding will come into effect. They have no plan in place, giving Saskatchewan families no hope for our children.
