Kisha Taylor started this petition to The Government of Ontario

The used car dealer market is worth billions. Thousands of cars are bought and sold yearly in Ontario. What happens when you buy a vehicle and it turns out to be a 'lemon' ( a car in extremely poor condition, possibly irrepairable) ? What are your rights? How do you get out of the deal and recover the thousands you probably spent to purchase the vehicle ? Surely there are laws to protect the consumer? This is Canada, there must be, right ?

W R O NG - Ontario does not have a lemon law. So it is actually quite an ordeal to ever get this resolved. OMVIC is of no help, they have no power. Consumer affairs does nothing to help. How many people can afford to go to small claims court ? What's the point because the law needs to be in place in order for you to get a ruling on the basis of the law. In short you are  F * C K E D. The government isn't there to protect you, they protect the corporations not consumers. The USA has a lemon law why not all provinces in Canada ? Only some provinces but not Ontario and that must stop now. Let us fight to get the laws to start protecting consumers not the corporations. We are the vulnerable ones.

Put your name on the petition, this could happen to you or a loved one. Change only happens we we take a stand and demand it !!!
