This is important as there are thousands of Kenyans who reside in foreign countries and are eligible to vote in the forth coming elections. The right for Kenyan citizens to vote was passed as law that and was meant to enable the Kenyan diaspora to be part, stakeholders and be able to choose the leaders that they feel will take the country forward. If what the Government said and passed in a cabinet meeting and later announced in the parliament happens, it would be going against the implementation of the new constitution which would be a step back towards the years that Kenyans have fought so hard for, to gain a new constitution. The number of eligible voters in the diaspora is not known but it is believed to be a whole lot more than two hundred thousand (which is the number that elected President Kibaki to his Second term in office) as Kenyans who have other citizenships are now able to gain dual citizenship which could be very influential and can swing the presidential and other regional posts that will be vied for by politicians. If change is to come to Kenya it should start now. Not Tomorrow. Please support this petition and lets make a difference. Change is us.
