Petition to
The Government of Canada

To wit;

Pierre Trudeau of age and in good health opted not to serve in World War II. He met Josef Stalin and participated in regime-sponsored propaganda activities. He praised Chairman Mao’s regime in China and openly admired Fidel Castro, Julius Nyere, and other Third World dictators.

Trudeau inherited a lead role Canada enjoyed in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Canada was a considerable military power and an important voice in the councils of the West.
In 1968, Canada was a serious second-tier non-nuclear military power. Trudeau's  government cut air and naval capabilities, pulled troops from Europe, and invoked morale-destroying reorganizations of the military.  By 1984 Canada had lost its war-fighting capability and had to opt out of ground combat operations in the Gulf War of 1990-91.

Trudeau inherited a strong, growing and diversified Canadian economy yet left the office in 1984 while Canadians were still feeling the effects of Canada’s worst recession since the Great Depression.

Through a decade of governing, 1969 - 1979 Trudeau tripled federal spending. His governance caused commodity prices to drop and spiraled Canada into a recession and its worst federal budget deficits in peacetime history.
Raising  taxes to save Canada from default was a result of Trudeau’s debt.
Canadians were left working harder in the 90s with no real increase in their standard of living.

The NEP expropriated foreign oil interests, repelling investors with arbitrary confiscations and contributed to the extreme severity of the 1982 recession.

Three subsequent prime ministers, Brian Mulroney, Jean Chretien, and Stephen Harper were compelled to donate 30 years of time cleaning up the wreckage left by Trudeau.

It is unconscionable to honor Pierre Trudeau who clearly caused more economic harm and social divisivness within Canada.
