MONTREAL PROTEST DETAILS, MAYORS OF MONTREAL & TORONTO PETITIONED

Sara Parker-Toulson
Roberts Creek, Canada

Aug 6, 2015 — Once again, THANK YOU for standing up against hate. Your voices are being heard VERY clearly, and your help is producing incredible results.

The local and national media have been covering both the petition and the protest events planned for Montreal and Toronto. We have spoken with CBC Radio, CJAD800 Radio in Montreal, The Toronto Star, The journal de Montreal, Le Devoir, CTV and others. Check it all out when you have a chance!

We managed to find out the location of where 'RooshV's 'lecture' was to take place in Montreal. When we made them aware of the nature of what they were hosting, they immediately cancelled the event. The word is that another venue has yet to be found. Additionally, we have been receiving conflicting information and have yet to officially confirm whether 'RooshV' has actually crossed the border and into Canada yet.

In light of this, we are amending the petition to include Mayor Bonnie Crombie of Mississauga, Denis Coderre, the Mayor of Montreal, and John Tory, the Mayor of Toronto, in order to request that they join us in declaring organized misogynist hate unwelcome in their respective cities, and to petition local businesses and organizations NOT TO DO BUSINESS WITH 'RooshV' nor anyone affiliated with him.

In the meantime, we are continuing to gather support for the demonstration in response to 'RooshV' and his supporters in Montreal. PLEASE, if you can, ATTEND THIS EVENT. I would like to emphasize that we need ALL genders at this demo. This is a human rights issue, not simply a women's issue, as all of you know.

MONTREAL DEMONSTRATION

SATURDAY, AUGUST 8, 2015

12:00 PM

NORMAN BETHUNE SQUARE, MONTREAL, QC

(See below for Google map of location)

Please note: if we officially determine the venue for 'RooshV's 'lecture', we MAY provide transportation to that venue to continue the demonstration to that location. Details should be available at the protest.

I continue to be inspired by all of the comments you have made when signing the petition. We have already made a huge difference, and we are not stopping now!!!
