My name is Hannah Hussain and i stay in Glasgow with my mum and my 18 years old disabled brother. My brother Tanveer is diagnosed with Myclonic Epilepsy, Hearing impairment and Severe Learning Disabilities. We currently live on a 2nd floor flat with 41 stairs. I have to push the wheelchair with him down the stairs slowly and pull the wheelchair with him back up the stairs. My mum was able to pull the wheelchair up but she can't now because of her back pain. So when I am in college he can't go out which is why we need a house on the ground floor. We applied to the Govanhill Housing Association 11 years ago and we are still waiting and as my brother is getting older he is getting heavier. I am always scared when I am bringing the wheelchair up and down the stairs as anything can happen. Luckily nothing has happened yet. He is unable to go to college because I am not home and the social worker can't take him down.
