I am starting this petition in relation to things i have witnessed through a family member, I believe the police an other professional people still do not take domestic violence and abuse against men seriously, the way in which it is dealt with is shocking and appalling, the male victims are not treated with respect or dignity neither are they treated fairly.

I have seen my family member be broken by the system and let down massively by the people who are there to protect you, they have had there experiences diminished, an under played an almost been called a liar.

The police did not even follow correct domestic abuse protocol, no dash books completed no statements taken, very few face to face meetings, no action taken at all. This needs to seriously change, men go through this to an need to be taken seriously when they find the courage to report incidents. The system is failing male victims in a massive way.

There are no male IDVAS in the UK, barely any refuge places, very few solicitors who will take on a male victim, the courts system still favours women even when there is sufficient evidence to see they are not the victim, Professionals still seem to be naive in the aspect that men can not go through DV which is highly incorrect there needs to be more support out there for male victims.
